How do I join?

Registration is open on this page until Sunday 14th December. Simply fill out our registration form to express your interest, and we’ll be in touch about the next steps.

Why do we use a registration process?

We keep our groups small—with a maximum of 10 participants—and carefully matched to ensure everyone is at a similar language level. The registration form helps us understand your goals and background so we can build a cohesive group where everyone will feel both supported and appropriately challenged.

How is the group decided?

We carefully match participants based on language level and learning pace. You'll be placed with others at a similar stage, making the experience more enjoyable and effective while creating the foundation for lasting friendships.

What does a typical day look like?

Here's an overview of our planned schedule (specific activities may vary based on availability and group preferences):

Wednesday: Early evening arrival at hotel | Welcome dinner
Thursday: Morning conversation lessons | Afternoon city tour with local guide | Games & challenges
Friday: Morning conversation lessons | Afternoon cooking workshop with challenge
Saturday: Morning visit to local market fair | Afternoon winery tour and tasting | Evening farewell dinner

How can I prepare for the trip?

We'll send you optional pre-trip materials, including vocabulary guides for each activity. Use as much or as little as you like—there's no pressure.

Will I meet my fellow participants before the trip?

Absolutely. We host an optional pre-trip video call where you'll meet your fellow participants, introduce yourselves, and ask any questions before you arrive. We also create a group chat a few days before the trip so you can connect.

Can I apply to come with my friend/partner?

Yes! You'll each need to complete a separate application, and there's a space on the form to indicate you'd like to join together.

What's not included?

You'll need to arrange:

Flights to and from Portugal. We provide return transfers between Porto and Viana only; all other travel is arranged independently.
Travel insurance
Meals not specified in the itinerary (we'll provide recommendations).
Valid passport/visa if required

What level of Portuguese do I need?

The trip is designed for advanced beginner learners (approximately A2 level). You should be comfortable with basic conversations, familiar with present, past and future tenses, and ready to practice speaking in real-world situations—even if you still make mistakes!
