I’m Stan, and like most Portuguese learners, I spent time with tutors, apps and self-study — and noticed early on that knowing the language and using it in real life are two very different things. That gap is what Offscript is built to close.
Spending time in Portugal made it obvious to me: real situations, real people, and the freedom to make mistakes without consequence — that’s what actually moves you forward. No app replicates it.
That insight, combined with my background leading educational travel and teaching languages, is what led me to start Offscript with my wife Cláudia. Our trips are built around one idea: that a few days of immersion in Portugal does more for your Portuguese than months of studying alone.
I’m Cláudia, and growing up in Portugal, I’ve always loved showing people the side of it that doesn’t make it into the guidebooks — the hidden corners, the local traditions, the doors that only open when you speak the language.
With a background in tourism and marketing, I make sure every trip we run feels authentic, welcoming, and worth the journey.
